Betsson has strengthened its presence in Greek sport by entering a major new partnership with historic Athens basketball club Peristeri BC. The two-year agreement goes beyond traditional sponsorship, positioning Betsson as a naming partner while reinforcing a shared commitment to community engagement, youth development and long-term sporting growth in Greece.
Under the deal, the club will officially compete as Peristeri Betsson BC, marking a significant new chapter for one of Greece’s most established basketball institutions.
The partnership grants Betsson naming rights and major sponsorship status, making it one of the most prominent commercial partners in Greek basketball. Rather than a short-term branding exercise, both parties describe the collaboration as a strategic alliance built around shared values such as professionalism, consistency and fan-focused experiences.
Betsson’s Commercial Director, Andreas Nikolopoulos, emphasised that the agreement reflects the company’s intention to stand alongside clubs with strong identities and sustainable management structures, rather than pursuing visibility alone.
A central pillar of the partnership is reconnecting Peristeri BC with its local community. The club aims to bring more fans back into the arena and reinforce its position as a community-driven organisation within Athens.
Beyond matchday visibility, the collaboration will include initiatives focused on youth engagement, education, equality and access to sport, aligning with Betsson’s broader approach to socially responsible sponsorships.
For Peristeri Betsson BC, the agreement provides financial and organisational backing to support its long-term sporting vision. Club management has highlighted talent development as a core priority, with a renewed focus on nurturing both local and international players.
General Manager Manos Kotsis stated that while progress has already been made in recent seasons, achieving these ambitions requires strong planning, structure and reliable partners. Betsson’s involvement is seen as a key enabler in delivering that stability.
The Peristeri deal builds on Betsson’s growing portfolio of Greek sports partnerships. Following previous naming agreements with Mykonos Betsson and Aris Betsson, the operator is establishing a consistent presence across Greek basketball through collaborations that carry cultural relevance and community impact.
With Peristeri Betsson BC now joining that network, Betsson continues to position itself as a long-term supporter of Greek sport rather than a transient commercial sponsor.
