Stake has officially launched its online sportsbook and casino platform in Mexico, strengthening its presence across Latin America ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The operator will serve Mexican players through the stake.mx domain under a permit-based structure regulated by SEGOB, operating as an agent under Uno Capali’s licence agreement.

Strategic timing ahead of World Cup

The launch comes at a significant moment for the Mexican gambling market, with the country set to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside the United States and Canada.

Stake views the tournament as a major opportunity to accelerate customer acquisition and brand growth in one of Latin America’s largest and fastest-growing betting markets.

Expanding LatAm footprint

Mexico becomes another key addition to Stake’s regulated Latin American portfolio, following previous launches in Peru and Colombia.

The company highlighted Mexico’s strong sports culture, rising digital adoption and mobile-first consumer behaviour as central reasons behind the expansion.

Online gambling growth in Mexico

The move also reflects the rapid evolution of Mexico’s online gambling sector, where online gaming revenue surpassed land-based gambling revenue for the first time in 2025.

Industry stakeholders continue to view Mexico as one of the most promising but complex regulated iGaming markets globally, particularly as regulatory reforms remain under discussion.

Stake focuses on regulated growth

The launch forms part of Stake’s broader strategy to strengthen its position in regulated local-currency markets and diversify beyond its crypto-led international business model.

The company has recently expanded its global sports marketing efforts, including signing former Belgian football star Eden Hazard as a World Cup ambassador earlier this year.

Stake director Jarrod Febbraio described Mexico as a “natural next step” for the operator’s Latin American expansion strategy and emphasised the long-term potential of the market.
